Fairytale Wedding Planning in the UK: The Wedding Guitarist

The Wedding Guitarist

Most couples want a wedding that is unique. So, when it comes to choosing their wedding music they don't want to get it wrong.

There are moments in your life when I think music should be heard, it sets the tone and the atmosphere. Your wedding day is definitely one of those moments!.
Everything that you choose for your wedding such as the dress, the suit, the venue, venue decor, catering, wedding theme etc is your taste, style and is what makes your wedding day so unique. When choosing your wedding music it's exactly the same.

You have decided that you would like beautiful live music played at your wedding and your not quite sure which kind of musician you would like or even which songs to choose.

When I was younger my Mum took myself and my brother guitar lessons on a Saturday morning, which I thought was great. We had an amazing teacher who made our lessons so much fun. We learnt to play so many different songs and in so many different ways. I was fascinated that this instrument could make so many different sounds and you could change any song to sound the way that you wanted it. I remember taking part in concerts with lots of different musicians, it was an amazing feeling to be part of something that I thought was so special. There would be different musicians who had learnt pieces of music and together we would play our instruments in a large hall. I can remember the feeling, the atmosphere, it really was something so special. I don't think there is a single word to describe the feeling when you hear live music.  We all react differently, have different feelings and emotions which is why music is so unique to us.
My lovely Mum who has now sadly passed away had Alzheimer's at a young age. She had a huge love for The Beatles and collected memorabilia over the years. I've still got her Beatles scrap books from when she was younger, she would cut out clippings from news papers and magazines. When she was at the end stages of her life I would pop in a CD of the Beatles, you could tell by the expressions on her face that she knew who it was. Her memories of her favourite band never left her. The memories lived on until the very end.
We can all relate to music and when we hear a certain piece our memory takes us back to that special moment in time, just like my memory took me back to when I was a child playing my guitar and for my Mum.

I don't know if you have ever been to a wedding where they have had a wedding guitarist, if you have then I think you will agree that there really is something so special about hearing a guitar playing at a wedding.

Let me introduce you to Alan Oliver a professional wedding guitarist.

Alan graduated from the famous Royal College of London and has since built a successful teaching career through dedication, reliability and the ability to satisfy any audience with the wide variety of music that he performs.
Alan performs regularly at weddings, not just in the UK but in many different countries.

Alan is also the author of the brilliant beginner series 'The Great Guitar Guide' which takes the student from a beginner to being able to start preparing for their grade 1 exam.

Many couples are turning to the classical guitarist to play at their weddings. Not only does this instrument sound so beautiful, it is an instrument that can be played in so many different ways. The classical guitar is very versatile: virtually all styles can be played on a classical guitar. Whether you want “Here Comes the Bride” or “Led Zapellin” when you walk down the aisle, this instrument can do it all.   For example, you may love a particular piece of music that means something to you both, although it might not be appropriate for a wedding, you love the words and they have a meaning to you. Alan can turn your chosen piece of music into something that is appropriate and unique to you both, playing in a style that is sophisticated and classy, creating music that is perfect and romantic, which creates a beautiful atmosphere and memory for you to rememember forever. That is one of the wonderful things I love about the classical guitar.

Alan Oliver is one of the very best classical  wedding guitarists I have ever heard. I just love how he can play any song in such a beautiful exquisite way,  he is an extremely  talented musician. You can see that Alan really has a passion when he is playing, which is why every performance is perfection.  Alan can provide you with beautiful guitar music for any part of your wedding day, from the ceremony through to the wedding breakfast and all the parts in between. With over 10 years of experience performing at weddings he can give only the best, professional and unique performance for your special day.

Alan has performed at many venues over the years, to name just some - Ashorne Hill, Bolivar Hall, HMS Belfast, Foxhills Hotel, Grosvenor Hotel, Hartsfield Manor, Horsley Towers, Letchworth Hall Hotel, Losely Park, Royal Holloway College, South Lodge Hotel, Stoke Park, Syon House, Thatchers Hotel, The Hurlingham Club, The Royal College of Music, Wasing Park and Various Hilton Hotels.
